How did Foodlink get started?

How does Foodlink work?

Foodlink works by collecting surplus food from hotels, restaurants, and food producers across the city. The food is packaged and stored at the end of each working day in restaurant freezers before our drivers pick up the food first thing in the morning and deliver them to over 46 charities across Hong Kong.

How much of my donation is going directly to people in need?

Foodlink Foundation is committed to ensuring that the majority of donations directly benefit those in need. Typically, a significant percentage of donations go towards food collection, transportation, and distribution efforts. Administrative and operational costs are kept to a minimum to maximize the impact of every dollar donated.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Foodlink Foundation is a registered charity in Hong Kong, and a tax-deductible receipt will be issued for donations of $100 or above.

How can I support you?

Volunteering is another great way to get involved and support their mission.

I don't have much money. Can I help?

There are many ways to support Foodlink without making a financial contribution. You can volunteer your time to help with food collection, sorting, and distribution. Additionally, you can raise awareness about Foodlink's mission by sharing their work on social media or organizing community events to support their cause.

Can I dedicate my donations?

Yes, you can dedicate your donations to honor someone special or to commemorate an event. When making a donation, simply indicate that you wish to make it in honor or memory of someone, and Foodlink will ensure that your dedication is acknowledged.

Can I make a donation on the phone if I don't want to donate online?

You can contact their office directly during business hours, and a staff member will assist you in processing your donation securely.

How will my donation be used?

Your donation to Foodlink will be used to support their food rescue and distribution programs. This includes collecting surplus food, transporting it to distribution centers, and providing it to those in need. Donations also help cover operational costs, such as maintaining vehicles and storage facilities, to ensure the seamless delivery of services.
